2017 Speech pathology Workshops

IT's only voice therapy

  • Thursday 14th December 2017  1pm – 6pm Full-completed

This is an interactive workshop designed for Speechies who share an interest or curiosity for the clinical aspects of voice and for those that feel that voice therapy deserves a session of its own. The focus will be on the clinical application of new findings in science and will be hands-on with opportunities to trouble-shoot and identify areas for further professional development. An understanding of voice production and assessment is assumed as this session will be devoted to therapy especially to management of muscle tension dysphonia, benign vocal fold lesions and vocal fold paralysis. Semi- occluded vocal tract exercises, resonant voice therapy, vocal function exercises and accent method are just some of the topics to be covered and be assured that not only the presenters will be using their voices! 

Clinical mentoring with Debbie

Laryngology 101

A foray into the world of  laryngology as related to speech pathologists with a focus in voice, cough and vocal cord dysfunction. Cost $260 -includes morning tea & lunch

A relaxed fireside chat about the role and application  of speech pathology  to the performing arts particularly in relation to music theatre.

2016 WORKSHOPS

FOR SPEECH PATHOLOGISTS

VOCOLOGY SERIES (2 hour evening classes run weekly over 4 weeks ) 

This course is designed for Speech Pathologists who are keen to develop specialist skill in the management of voice. It will combine aspects of vocal anatomy, speech science, clinical aspects of voice, and the latest in evidence-based voice therapy. Places will be limited to a small group to allow for an individualised curriculum. Focus will be placed specifically on the clinical application of new findings in science and will be hands-on with real-time therapy demonstrations and opportunities to trouble-shoot, and identify areas for further professional development. In 2016 we will offer VOCOLOGY 1 with a focus on Assessment, and VOCOLOGY 2 in which we will examine Intervention
